Our materials

Choosing the right wood for your joinery project is crucial so we work with a range of timbers to provide you with the best possible results, whether inside or outside. We aim to use sustainable, environmentally friendly practices and materials wherever possible, including the use of Accoya timber whenever practical. Here’s a list of some of the woods we commonly use.

Our materials

Accoya

A modified softwood that is stable and durable, resisting rot and defying local weather conditions. Accoya has an ideal surface for painting and comes with a guarantee for 50 years in above ground conditions.

Douglas Fir

Strong and stable wood that’s lighter than many comparable hardwoods.

Idigbo

A durable, long-lasting wood with an attractive grain that is ideal for furniture.

Oak

Extremely popular wood with outstanding durability and a beautiful finish. One of numerous hardwoods we use for exterior work.

Tulipwood

A light, cost-effective timber that we use extensively for interior doors.

Redwood

Its straight grain and tough qualities make it a superb choice for skirtings and architraves.
